If any of the extra dimensions of string theory are actually real and not just mathematical constructs, then there could be something out there that we cannot see but which still warps space like matter. Maybe it really is matter but it is "dark" because of it's location is in some other dimension. Maybe entangled electrons are connected by some extra-dimensional string.<br />John Morganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17596865229995068185noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1580378912972065231.post-22638124831760005742018-12-06T07:37:53.635-06:002018-12-06T07:37:53.635-06:00There are quite a few alternative proposals for wh...There are quite a few alternative proposals for what dark matter might be. The reason most scientists think that there really is some unknown matter is because that simple hypothesis solves many problems including galactic rotation, gravitational lensing, and the large scale structure of the universe. By postulating the same amount of dark matter as a real entity, many problems are solved at once.Michael G Strausshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11580842374977938870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1580378912972065231.post-81954000027499838942018-12-05T21:06:12.253-06:002018-12-05T21:06:12.253-06:00I read today a guy from Oxford puplished a paper p...I read today a guy from Oxford puplished a paper proposing dark matter and energy are actually liquid with negative mass. He proposes this negative mass matter is constantly being produced.<br /><br />Sounds crazy enough to be true. If so, it would be new physics and new matter.Roberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01213120215182528953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1580378912972065231.post-25421376955574523382018-06-17T08:08:46.324-05:002018-06-17T08:08:46.324-05:00I'm not totally sure of the answer to either o...I'm not totally sure of the answer to either of your questions. However, I don't think there is any mechanism for exchange of one to the other. That is done in the normal matter sector through matter and antimatter annihilation, so there would have to be an abundance of "anti-dark matter" and that would have annihilated early in the universe. So I think the relative amounts are pretty much invariant after the very early universe.Michael G Strausshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11580842374977938870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1580378912972065231.post-19672262995084692112018-06-13T19:40:08.524-05:002018-06-13T19:40:08.524-05:00Michael Does the dark matter and dark energy inte...Michael Does the dark matter and dark energy interchange according to Einsteins equation and if so what is the driving force. I would suppose in decay its related to instability to a simpler in some sense state. Could there be a cosmological reason for such dark interchange that varies the ratio of these dark entities over eons of time in accord with the big bang theory, expansion..etc. Where does the second law and entropy enter into the issue...if at all.Keithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16219283160015859565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1580378912972065231.post-39799698417955008072018-06-09T05:41:36.205-05:002018-06-09T05:41:36.205-05:00Thank you Dr. Strauss.
